ATA carnet
Exports and imports goods from temporary quickly, safely and without payment of tax.
It is a international customs document operated from 1963 that allows the temporary import of goods free of duties and taxes up to a year.
It also contains forms of customs declaration unified previously prepared to be used in each of the offices of border customs and serves as a guarantee of the rights and customs taxes.

2. What goods covers?
ATA carnets cover almost everything, including: jewelry, transmission equipment, diagnostic devices, equipment, music/audio, stands and trade shows, and works of art/antiques, computers, film and video, security equipment, computer equipment, clothing for shoots and shows, horses for training/show, construction equipment, industrial machinery, sports equipment, testing devices and instruments of the orchestra.
3. What products can NOT go on an ATA carnet?
The articles of an ATA carnet should enter and exit a country, therefore, the following items do not qualify:
– Articles intended to be consumed, given away, used or disposed of in the country.
– Items that can undergo a substantial transformation.
– Articles for repair or replacement.

5. How do I use the ATA carnet?
An ATA carnet issued and printed with leaves of different colors: proof act as receipts for entry and re-export in foreign countries, and the arrays sealed by the customs services of foreign act as your receipt of the holder.
Each color indicates who must file the proof: the customs office of temporary admission (white color) or the customs office of export (yellow). Blue leaves are used for customs transit.
*It is essential to bring the ATA carnet to the customs each time you cross a border.
6. Where do I get an ATA carnet and where can I use it?

7. What is a security deposit?
In the case of Peru, is an amount equivalent to 40% of the value of the goods declared in the ATA Carnet. Ensures that taxes and duties will be paid if the goods fail to be re-exported or there is an incorrect usage. This amount will be returned to the applicant once the use of the ATA carnet, always and when the ca has validated the correct delivery.
8. Why must provide a security deposit?
Because the conventions in the ATA carnet may require. Security deposits provide financial stability to the ATA system. The Partnership Guarantor guarantees the payment of duties and taxes to the customs authorities who submit valid claims.
9. Who is authorized to submit the ATA carnet to the Customs for clearance?
The holder of the ATA carnet that is contained in the box To the green cover is the main authorized party. You can also delegate to a third party by means of:
– Listarlo in box B of the green cover.
– A power of attorney of the notebook.
– A role of attorney customs.
– A letter on the letterhead of the owner, authorizing the new entity/person.

11. What happens if you lose the ATA carnet?
There is the option of obtaining a duplicate of the ATA carnet, which will have the same expiration date and information as the original, and it will continue where it left off the previous one. This allows you a timely solution to import or re-export the goods referred to.
12. Where do I return the notebook?
All notebooks must be returned in person to the Chamber of Commerce of Lima as authority, even if you never used. The return must be done by the owner and retain a clear copy of all the booklet of the notebook (all the sheets and even the non-used).
